Position description

The Kresge College at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time lecturers who may be appointed to teach to Kresge enhancement courses. These courses are meant to contribute to a diverse liberal arts program, expand general education options, provide opportunities for learning across disciplines, and to explore collaborative and experimental approaches to higher learning.

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Expertise in media studies, writing, natural history and ecology, sustainability, social justice, the arts, or other interdisciplinary fields;
  • Doctoral degree; and/or
  • Five or more years’ university level teaching experience

ACADEMIC TITLE
Lecturer

SALARY
Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree (or equivalent foreign degree) at the time of application, or five years' equivalent professional experience in artistic or creative work consisting of publications, exhibitions, or performances at the time of application.
  • University-level teaching experience.

POSITION AVAILABLE
Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit’s instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters). Appointments may also be made during Summer Session.
