History of Consciousness: Lecturer Pool (Ongoing)
Position description
The History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an on-going pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach occasional courses during the regular academic year and/or in summer session in the following areas: critical and cultural theory, history of social movements, and cultural studies. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching. Candidates must be willing to teach both seminars and large lecture courses.
Candidates accepted into this pool may be approached by other units to teach in areas related to their demonstrated areas of expertise.
RANK: Lecturer
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Compensation for Summer Session may vary from the academic year.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: M.A. in field relating to areas of instruction (critical and cultural theory, history of social movements, and cultural studies). Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education in one or more of the subject areas listed above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in field relating to areas of instruction (critical and cultural theory, history of social movements, and cultural studies). Minimum of three years University level teaching experience.
