Position description

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for the position of Assistant Researcher in Applied Mathematics, under the direction of Assistant Professor Daniele Venturi. We seek outstanding applicants with expertise in the areas of stochastic modeling, quantum mechanics, high-performance scientific computing, and dimension reduction techniques. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in quantum information and the Mori-Zwanzig (MZ) formulation. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research under the direction of Prof. Venturi, collaborate with students and postdocs in AMS and other departments, attend regular research meetings, write scientific papers and technical reports, and present research work at conferences, workshops and program reviews.
