Position description

The Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology Department at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Neuroscience. Applicants with a broad range of interests, from molecular to systems levels are encouraged to apply. We particulary encourage applicants who are addressing fundamental questions in brain development and function, are using state-of-the-art experimental approaches, have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, and complement the department's existing strengths in developmental neuroscience and stem cell biology. Candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program, contribute to the intellectual vitality of the UCSC scientific community, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the classroom and through mentorship, and provide service to the campus and their profession. RANK: Assistant Professor

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, academic year (9-month) basis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent foreign degree in biology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years postdoctoral research experience
