Position description
The Department of History at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers. Course topics cover a broad range of areas in History including, but not limited to, the following: Africa, Ancient history, Middle East (colonial and postcolonial), Latin America (colonial and national periods), Medieval Europe, Modern Europe, United States (North America/United States to 1877 and/or United States 1865 to the present), African American History, and World History.
Applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the university level are strongly encouraged to apply.
Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.

Qualifications
- Ph.D. (or equivalent foreign degree) in history or related field.
- Evidence of teaching experience at the university level.
