The Physics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Experimental High-Energy Particle Physics. We have a preference for candidates with research interests in colliding-beam experiments. The Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics has an excellent technical infrastructure and hosts an active ATLAS experimental research group.
The successful candidate will be expected to pursue a vigorous experimental research program, to teach courses and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to perform service to the department and campus. The successful candidate must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Physics, a demonstrated record of experimental research, and a record of publications in the field of experimental high-energy physics.
